Equipment setup

To work with objects in the GALAKTIKA system on transport (or stationary equipment), you need to configure the GLONASS monitoring devices (telematics equipment). Data from such devices arrives at the GALAKTIKA server and is interpreted by the system into textual and graphical information.

The GALAKTIKA monitoring system is cross-platform — it supports working with equipment from different manufacturers and with various protocols.

The device settings determine the correctness of the data received by the system, so it is recommended to follow the instructions of the navigation equipment manufacturers and carefully verify the specified parameters. GLONASS devices, depending on the manufacturer, can be configured either remotely or via a wired connection to a personal computer.

The main required object settings in the GALAKTIKA system (for binding to a GLONASS device) are:

  • a unique identifier (the device IMEI), in some cases the device id,
  • the object name,
  • the number of the SIM card installed in the device,
  • the device model.

Required device settings (determined by the device manufacturer and model):

  • the DNS or IP address of the server,
  • the equipment port.
